International Travel Fellowship (Karnataka Orthopaedic Association)
The International Travel Fellowship is a merit-based programme started in 2008 by the Karnataka Orthopaedic Association. This course includes two to three weeks of intense observership programme which comprises visits to various hospitals around the United Kingdom. Fellows even get to attend courses and conferences in the UK during the programme. It is recognised by the Indian Orthopaedic Society (United Kingdom).
Teaching was always a passion for Dr. Ramesh. He has spent over twenty-two years teaching as a professor of Orthopaedics at Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. After which he went on to become the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy at the same institution. While teaching, he went beyond the prescribed curriculum and conducted several workshops for the benefit of the students like Cadaveric workshops, Simulation work- shops for improving surgical skills CME’s & Suturing skills workshops. He has persevered to raise awareness to the public with television programmes, writing newspaper articles and giving guest lectures all around the country.
