Dr. Ramesh Krishna is currently the Medical Superintendent at the prestigious Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. Handling managerial duties at honourable institutions, publishing papers in national & international Orthopaedic journals, lecturing students and participating in panels & associations all over the country, Dr Ramesh Krishna has been excelling for more than a decade, both in the field of Orthopaedics & Administrative work.

Educational Qualification

After completing his MBBS with distinction from KIMS, Bangalore in 1990 and his MS from JJM Medical College, Davangere in 1994, Dr. Ramesh went on to top the 2009 batch and attain the M.Ch degree from the renowned University of Seychelles. He was later granted the Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow.

Teaching Experience

Teaching was always a passion for Dr. Ramesh. He has spent over twenty-two years teaching as a professor of Orthopaedics at Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. After which he went on to become the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy at the same institution. While teaching, he went beyond the prescribed curriculum and conducted several workshops for the benefit of the students like Cadaveric workshops, Simulation workshops for improving surgical skills CME’s & Suturing skills workshops. He has persevered to raise awareness to the public with television programmes, writing newspaper articles and giving guest lectures all around the country.

Principal & HOD of Dept of Orthopaedics, BMCRI

After spending more than a couple of decades as a professor, Dr. Ramesh stepped up to the role of the Head of Dept role at BMCRI and then as the Principal of the 60-year-old institution. Some of the highlights of this illustrious tenure include overseeing important infrastructure development including waiting rooms for patients, Orthotics & Prosthetics facilities, and introducing biometric attendance. He is also credited with starting the Sports Medicine Dept. at the institution with Rs.12.5 crores of funding from the govt.

Medical Superintendent, Victoria Hospital

In 2017, he was appointed as the Medical Superintendent at the 120-year-old Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. In just a short period, Dr. Ramesh undertook the renovation of many facilities and the construction of a new OPD block that increased the capacity to 1000 beds. Victoria Hospital was one of the first hospitals in the state to start administering vaccines to healthcare workers & doctors back in January 2021. Under his supervision, Victoria Hospital won the esteemed Kaayakalpa award for its cleanliness.
